Police Dispatch

Police Dispatchers control and manage the community law enforcement resources available for any emergency incident. The dispatchers are aware of the current availability of the various personnel/units at City, Town and Sheriff emergency law enforcement response systems.

By receiving and relaying information gathered by the 911 Telecommunicator, Police Dispatchers link the citizen caller to the police.

Police Dispatchers also assist officers by running Department of Motor Vehicle checks. In addition, they are the administrative radio arm of the police officer, available to call back citizens to gather more information relating to a 911 call, to notify surrounding agencies of the arrest of a wanted person or to relay information about hospital status to a transporting ambulance.
